Livestock

The DiCRA Livestock Portal provides an interface for livestock heat-impact analysis and district-level livestock statistics. The dashboard presents a map interface with two primary modes of analysis — Livestock Heat Impact and Livestock Statistics — accessible through the map controls.

Livestock Heat Impact

The Livestock Heat Impact section displays spatially mapped cattle heat index data across the selected region. Selecting a location on the map in this mode opens a detail panel.

  • The selected location's name and coordinates are displayed at the top of the panel.
  • A brief description of the heat index methodology used to calculate thermal stress for cattle is shown.
  • The current cattle heat index value is displayed along with a severity classification label (such as Normal, Alert, Danger, or Emergency), allowing users to quickly assess the present level of thermal risk.
  • A short-range forecast of the cattle heat index is provided for the next seven days, enabling users to anticipate upcoming heat-stress conditions.
  • Trend views for 1-month, 3-month, and 6-month periods are available, displaying how heat-stress conditions have evolved over time at the selected location.

Livestock Statistics

The Livestock Statistics section provides district-level indicators related to livestock population, poultry, and veterinary infrastructure.

  • The total livestock population count for the selected district is displayed.
  • The total poultry population for the district is shown separately.
  • The number of veterinary hospitals and registered veterinary doctors present in the district are displayed.
  • A chart showing the category-wise breakdown of cattle population within the district is provided, displaying the distribution across cattle types or breed categories.
