Climate Dashboard

The DiCRA Climate Portal is an interactive dashboard designed to help users explore district-level climate risk, analyse trends, and generate climate risk profiles. It enables users to visualise, analyse, and download climate-related insights through an integrated map interface.

Risk Visualisation

The main dashboard displays an interactive map and an analytics panel. The map provides a spatial view of climate indicators.

Zoom and pan:

  • Use the scroll wheel or +/- controls to zoom.
  • Click and drag to move across regions.

Select a region:

  • Click directly on a geographic boundary at the district level.
  • You can also select a state from the dropdown menu at the top right and click on each district.

Risk info panel:

  • Refer to the legend to understand the colour scales and intensity levels.
  • The info panel provides the risk score for the district.
  • The risk index ranks the hazard levels of all 9 perils in that district at low, medium, and high levels.

District-Level Climate Risk Profile Generation

Select the Generate Profile option in the left-side menu, or generate the profile via the info panel for each district — the Generate Risk Profile button is at the bottom of the info panel. You can then export the generated profile as a PDF document.

The risk profile provides the following information for each district:

  • rainfall and climate overview of the district
  • area, population, and other geographic information for the district
  • historic climate trends for rainfall, temperature, etc.
  • hazard assessment for all 9 perils
  • a matrix plotting the likelihood of a risk occurring against the consequences of its occurrence for the district

Climate Analytics

The Analytics Panel provides detailed trend and comparative analysis.

  • After selecting a peril, review the displayed charts. The risk is plotted against a parameter, with each point representing a district.
  • Use the State filter to select which state to plot.
  • Apply the time filter or year selector to analyse trends across specific periods.

The Analytics Panel typically displays:

  • line charts for time-series trends
  • bar charts for regional comparisons
